PARTY MEATBALLS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 c. quick-cooking oats
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. finely chopped onion
  • 3 lbs. ground beef
  • 2 tsp. salt

SAUCE:

  • 2 c. ketchup
  • 1½ c. packed brown sugar
  • ½ c. chopped onion

In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, oats, onion, salt, powders, and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into balls. Place in foil-lined baking dishes. Combine the three sauce ingredients; pour over meatballs. Bake, uncovered, at 325°F for 1 hour or until meat is no longer pink.

YIELD: approximately 50

    The Stewiacke Valley Farmer's Market is held every Saturday morning June 5th - October 9th from 8-12 am at O'Connell's Family Farm (closed Oct. 2nd).
