11th Annual Beef BBQ

The 11th Annual Beef BBQ was held Sunday, August 24th, 2008. Approximately 320 people were served and $1000 was donated to the IWK Children’s Hospital.

Local musicians donated their time all afternoon and provided wonderful entertainment.

Our menu consisted of:

  • Marinated beef on a bun (and BBQ’d onions)
  • Homemade french fries
  • Homemade desserts
  • Beverages
  • Garden fresh garnishes included local lettuce and tomatoes

A petting area with horses, alpacas, goats calves and bunnies were enjoyed by many.

Displays of past BBQs and the Stewiacke Valley Farmers Market were set up.

Our BBQ was a part of the 2008 Nova Scotia Incredible Picnic with its centre in Debert NS.

Our thanks to all the volunteers that helped us in making the BBQ a success.

  • Stewiacke Valley Farmer’s Market

    The Stewiacke Valley Farmer's Market is held every Saturday morning June 5th - October 9th from 8-12 am at O'Connell's Family Farm (closed Oct. 2nd). A small market with a large selection, you will find fresh produce, fresh and frozen meat, baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles, fudge, honey, maple products, feta cheese, Jost wines, blueberry juice, framed photography, handmade greeting cards, local art, knitting, crocheting, sewing and other unique handcrafts!!!

    We now offer fresh and frozen beef. Fresh beef is now available daily including:
